Background

MD from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers). BS in Biology from UC Riverside. During his first year of medical school, founded Street Ready LLC — a company that trained inner-city residents as first responders in first aid, self-defense, and de-escalation. The program reached more than 6,000 New Jersey residents and produced measurable reductions in emergency-room visits.
